According to Vince

Being that it's Valentine's Weekend I thought I'd share this one today :)  I was originally going to do a he said/she said kind of layout but only the "he said" responded to me when I asked for the details about the photo....lol I'm really liking how it came out! Lifted the stitched heart from Cindy Tobey you can view her layout here on my pinterest

I had to tape 2 pieces of paper together in order to trace out and cut a heart big enough for the design I wanted.

I then sketched an outline an inch away from the heart edge,

Loosely taped the heart down, gesso'd the edges and then splattered it with orange and yellow water colour paint.

I didn't have any orange thread and I wanted it to have a warm ombre effect so I used my water colours to dye the thread.

I really like how Cindy went outside the lines when she was stitching so I copied that as well :)  I LOVE how this layout came together.  Definitely a favourite!

Fritz in the Dishes

Sharing this one today :)  This is my friends beloved dog, they had to put him down earlier this year but he was a special part of the family and cottage life.

I participated in a "ligt the person above" challenge over at Studio Calico and was able to get some beautiful inspiration from avec_la_fleur, you can see her beautiful layout here.

Used some water colour paints to make the bubbles and then stitched around them.  Really liking how it came out :)

Mrs. Dodds

Sharing this one today :)  I combined 2 Challenges over at Studio Calico.  I did the February LOAW1, we were to use stitching on layouts.  I'm wising I had stitched an outline around the tree printable instead of putting two lines, but it's done and I'm not changing it....lol  I also used more older product for Just g's Oldie's but Goodies challenge :)

Products used
DCWV - Cardstock, it was the ones that had the pre-cut photo placements.
Martha Stewart Tag that I washed with gesso
Pattern paper is Bazzil and Bella Blvd
Doodle Bug Loopy Lou Stickers - LOVE THESE!
Elle Studio Wood Grain stickers
Studio Calico Wood Veneer.
The chipboard ampersand I'm not sure who makes it, I'm thinking Stampin Up?

Oldie's but Goodies - Chip

Gillian Nelson is hosing an Oldie's but Goodie's Challenge over at Studio Calico and since all I have is older products this was right up my alley ;) It's another cottage layout and I'm LOVING  how it came out!!  It's simple but it still gives me that "cottagy" feel :)

The only thing that is new on this layout is the wood grain paper which I downloaded from Pixel Scrapper. Since my scrapbooing is on a no spending diet I love it when I come across some great free finds and Pixel Srapper has a lot!

Supplies Used
Light Wood Paper from Pixel Scrapper - you can download it here
Bazzil Basics Pattern Paper
Beary Patch (how many people remember this brand?) for the patchwork hearts
Stampin Up for the tags
Bella Blvd for the words "Hanging Out"
And my Cricut

Sharing this layout today.  It was published in the 2007 Spring Issue of Canadian Scrapbooker.  It's still really hard for me to read the journaling without tearing up.  It's a very simple layout but I think it speaks volumes and is very special to me.
