I saw this great tutorial on making Ribbon Flowers on this blog It's in the Details and had to try it. It was so quick and so easy!
The ribbon I used is actually a draw string from a pair of my daughters old pajama bottoms but the colour was perfect for the layout! Please forgive my messy cutting mat ;)
First cut a length of ribbon roughly about 12 inches long.
Starting at one of the ribbon weave your threaded needle in and out of the ribbon about 1 millimeter from the edge of the ribbon.
Continue weaving your threaded needle all they way to the end of the ribbon
Once you are finished threading the ribbon, pull the thread through to make it gather as tight as possible and knot the thread.
On the other tutorial it says to glue the two cut ends together, I opted to pop dot mine (no need to wait for the glue to dry *smile*)
Flatten and re-shape gathered ribbon to your preference.
Next I punched out a 1" circle and adhered to the ribbon with Alene's Tacky Glue, I LOVE this stuff! Great for non paper items you adhere to your page and it dries quick!
Next I attached a big brad from my stash and Voila, I had some pretty flowers for my page :)
My finished Page
Pattern Paper used is
KI Memories
Basic Grey
Chatterbox
Mustard Moon
Brought out my Making Memories Slice used the Teen card and cut out different sized "people" to represent my Mom, Myself and my Kids. I also used it for the title. Then I doodled a bit which was fun, may need to do this on more pages :)
Thanks so much for stopping by,
Kim
