Her Thinking Spot

The new CSI Challenge # 75 is up, these colours where more to my liking ;) and of course I combined the challenge with Tracey G's Challenge to "Scrap outside your comfort zone" over at Scrap That!  and for me that is Layers.  I love the look of all the beautiful layered papers and embellies but can never seem to get it to work for me.  So for now I'll keep it simple ;)

For this layout I printed out different quotes to I found on Pinterest.  I wanted to to convey to my daughter the importance of loving herself.  I then layered my paper, photo, a Karen Foster border strip that I "white washed", a left over piece of a sticker strip from MME and some Prima Ribbon.  I then used water colours on some American Crafts fabric thicker (LOVE!)  For the embellished strip going across the top of the page I again "white washed" a piece of Chatterbox Pattern paper, crumpled it and used my circle punches to create some flowers and my mini heart punch to create a banner effect.  I'm liking how it turned out :)  The beautiful photo was taken by my wonderfully talented friend at Rhonda Calvitto Images

Pattern Paper is Chatterbox and Studio Calico
Border strips are Karen Foster and MME
Ribbon is Prima
Letter Stickers are American Crafts

Thanks for stopping by, hope everyone is have a good weekend!

This layout has been linked up to the Layout Love Linky  over at purplemailbox.com great blog for inspiration!

Love your page!! I love the concept! Layers used to be one of my biggest obstacles but now I use scraps to build up my photos. It really helps me not having to cut everything down!. Thanks for Sharing.

A lovely layout. Nothing wrong with baby steps and you are so right in your journalling. We all need to be reminded of that every now and then :D
